On Saturday, Jerard, Josh and I attended the May 9th version of the Bluewater Reading series. It was hosted by poet Lynn Tait and featured readers from Sarnia, Ottawa and Oakville. The event which is held at John’s Restaurant out on the Golden Mile takes a much more organized and traditional approach to poetry reading. The highlight for me was Atonino Mazza who is both a poet and a translator. He came over and personally welcomed us to the event, thanked us for coming out and wondered why three young people would be out at a poetry event on a warm saturday afternoon. It was really nice out. It was a nice event. It is sponsored by the Canada Council for the Arts through the Writer’s Union of Canada and the League of Canadian Poets. Here are a few snapshots I got of the event. Make sure to check out the poets work.
